Why?

Because we could all use with a little more of our own inner-super hero’ness! Truly, we are so much more powerful than we believe. Remember that Marianne Williamson quote?

We ask ourselves, Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous? Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small does not serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won’t feel insecure around you. We are all meant to shine, as children do. We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us. It’s not just in some of us; it’s in everyone. And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others.”

The field of Quantum Physics is proving our Super Hero’ness as it delves deeper and deeper into our ability to CREATE our own reality. YOU create your reality…no one else. It is up to you…the thoughts you allow into your head, the way you judge (or not) any given situation.

I learned from my friend Kerry Garner Venter that as soon as we judge any situation or thing as good or bad, right or wrong, that we have limited its potential. I see this every time I teach a painting class. We get to a point in our painting, I call it the “ugly stage,” and decide that “it” isn’t working. Nope. WE are the creators and WE can create the change we need to get it out of the “ugly”. But the tendency to judge it as wrong is so strong and, then, to just stop tends to be our default mode.

Our Super Hero self is there to come to the rescue! There is no mountain too high, no bullet too speedy, no “oops” on your canvas too ugly to stop your creative, super hero self!

Then, this also applies to the art that is your life! You are infinitely creative and are swimming in a sea of pure potentiality.

As a Creatively Fit Coach this is my mission–to inspire this perspective within YOU and we develop this as we make our mark in our art journal and on the canvas.

So, unpack your Super Hero costume and grab a paintbrush–2013 is all about taking NEW action! YOU can do it! Woohoo!

After years of meditation and after filling hundreds of notebooks with my creative expression,in the Spring of 2004, my awareness sank so deep inside that I woke up to the Source that exists within all of us, that place where all things are born. It was an early morning writing experience that led to an experience of lucid dreaming – observing phenomena, in the form of images, arise from a nothingness within. After that, it was clear that this whole life is the creative expression of God. The creative energy is the very energy that brings this entire collective experience into manifestation!!  That experience forever changed my understanding of who I am, what it is to be human, and my idea of God.

In fact, it was so profound that it inspired me to formally study the imagination, the unconscious, and the process by which this awakening occurred. About two years later, I attended Pacifica Graduate Institute and eventually earned a Master’s degree in Counseling Psychology with an emphasis in Depth Psychology. While attending Pacifica I also attended weekly meditation groups led by a soft-spoken gentleman who taught principles from the Advaita Vedenta, or non-dual tradition. Advaita Vedanta is a philosophy that states the world is an illusion (a dream) and there is no difference between nothingness and the images it bears, between reality and the source of reality.

It is clear that everything begins within. The manifestation of this life begins inside.
